This webinar is for helping DNMS therapists master the skills and interventions after completing a DNMS stabilization webinar or live training. (See prerequisites listed below.) We will especially focus on clearing processing blocks and exploring how to intervene when client reactions to helpful information or interventions are unexpected or atypical. The webinar will be highly interactive, consisting of combination of discussion, demos, and drills. The following topics will be covered in the training…
- Taking a client history in preparation for ego state interventions
- Explaining to clients about ego state therapy and healing parts of self
- Mobilizing a team of Provisional Resources
- Pairing Resource Team with an anchor
- Establishing a Special Safe Place (a fun place for wounded parts to hang out)
- Setting an effective therapy goal – free of blocks
- Inviting wounded parts forward
- How to attune, validate, and empathize with wounded parts
- Giving wounded parts missing information, and clear any misunderstandings
- Connecting wounded parts to a loving, supportive team of Resources
- Orienting wounded parts to present time
- Showing wounded parts that the upsetting experience they seem to be reliving, is actually just a harmless recording
- Inviting a wounded part to settle in to the Special Safe Place
- Challenges of ritual/sadistic abuse
- Challenges in handling perplexing disclosures
This Webinar is for mental health professionals (psychologists, counselors, social workers, and LMFTs, etc.) who are already using the DNMS stabilization interventions taught in the 10-hour on-demand webinar or live training. Completion of one of these is required. This webinar will teach intermediate and advanced skill level stabilization ego state therapy interventions.
Prerequisite – Completion of any one of the following:

About the Presenter
Lynn James is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in private practice in Island Lake, Illinois. She specializes in treating complex PTSD and dissociation. She’s an EMDRIA-approved Consultant and EMDR trainer. Her specialty is integrating EMDR with the DNMS. She’s a delightful, thoughtful, soulful, and humorous presenter. Continuing Education Credit
This workshop is NOT approved for EMDRIA Credits.
Psychologists: Commonwealth Educational Seminars is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Commonwealth Educational Seminars maintains responsibility for these programs and their content. Psychologists will receive 13 hours of continuing education credit upon completing this program.
Social Workers: The DNMS Institute, LLC, #1702, is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) www.aswb.org, through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. The DNMS Institute, LLC maintains responsibility for the program. ASWB Approval Period: 9/27/2019-9/27/2022. Social workers should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval for continuing education credits. Social workers participating in this course will receive 13 continuing education clock hours.
Counselors: LPCs, LCPCs, MHCs, and LMHCs will receive 13 CEs in states where any scope-of-practice continuing education is accepted, or where continuing education from ASWB ACE providers is accepted.
